Bosch Bulldog Xtreme SDS-plus Rotary Hammer Bits

As cordless tools continue to dominate the jobsite, it becomes more important to team them up with optimized accessories. Bosch Bulldog Xtreme SDS-plus Hammer Bits are now optimized for use with cordless power tools based on a robust 4-to-2 flute design that ensures speed in dust removal with less potential for binding.

The Bulldog Xtreme line is a wide range of full-head carbide for bits up to 5/8″ that delivers 4X life drilling in concrete with rebar, yet offers high-speed drilling with precision. Advanced geometry ensures performance with less carbide wear. Bits beyond 5/8″ feature a robust four-cutter design that offers 180-degree cutting diameter and 100 percent power transfer during drilling. In addition, four symmetrical 90-degree side angles create a wider and sharper tip versus competitive bits to aggressively cut through tough material like rebar.

The overall flute design of the bit enhances dust removal, reduces operating temperatures and reduces bit stress in concrete. These full-head carbide bits feature the 4-to-2 flute design: four flutes that transition to two larger flutes for increased dust removal capacity and a cleaner hole. Bosch Bulldog Xtreme bits deliver performance in reinforced concrete or hard aggregate.

“Drilling in concrete is tough work for the user and the power tool,” said Andrea Molinar, product manager, accessories, Bosch Power Tools. “Using an optimized accessory not only speeds up the job, but it saves battery life, the bit lasts longer and ensures more precise drilling. And longer bit life means getting more done in less time because you don’t have to change out bits as often.“

Bosch utilizes a proprietary diffusion-bonding technology, a high-heat, high-pressure solid-state welding process that produces an extremely strong steel/carbide bond. This gives Bosch Bulldog Xtreme bits
superior strength and a full-head carbide tip that holds up when the work gets tough in concrete drilling.

The centric conical tip guides the bit and results in rounder holes, which is important when setting anchors or fasteners. The wear mark indicates to the user when the bit has worn to a level where it’s no longer precise. Bit sizes for the full range extend from 3/16” to 1-1/8” diameter.

For U.S. users, this tool should be used in accordance to the OSHA silica regulations designed to limit silica dust exposure, as well as the owner’s manual. Learn more about Bosch PRO+GUARD™ dust solutions by visiting www.boschtools.com/proguard.
